NASA threatens to declare Raila Odinga president

Elected leaders allied to National Super Alliance (NASA) have threatened to swear in Raila Odinga as president. The leaders said that should Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declare President Uhuru the winner of October 26th election, they would equally declare and swear in Raila using the cancelled August 8th poll.“From Monday, October 30, this country will proceed in a direction Uhuru Kenyatta will not understand. This is not a joke because if Baba (Raila) says fire, we fire. If Uhuru uses the results from the October 26 election to boast that he is the president, we as NASA will use the results from the August 8 election because if the servers are opened, it was Raila who won the presidential election. They must keep this sham election very far from us,” said Siaya Senator James Orengo on KTN News. Led by Siaya senator James Orengo and former Machakos senator, Johnstone Muthama, the leaders asked Kenyans to prepare for the grand announcement which they said will completely change the country’s political landscape.“The new constitution has empowered people of Kenya with executive authority and not even the President has the power to exercise such authority,” said James Orengo.“Raila Odinga fought with the late Jomo Kenyatta until his death, Moi went home after locking up Raila, Kibaki joked with Raila and he went home, Uhuru Kenyatta will go home and Raila Odinga will come to be the President of Kenya,” added Orengo. Former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama also echoed Orengo’s sentiments. “This is the notice to Uhuru. He will vote for himself, he will swear yourself in, he will run and do everything but Kenyans have decided he will not be their leader," said Muthama. The opposition said that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission could not hold a credible election, and the same was confirmed by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and former commissioner Roslyne Akombe.Raila went ahead and said that if Uhuru is announced winner, they would announce measures they are going to take to enhance pressure on the Government to step down.
