US First lady Melania Trump confirms her visit to Kenya

US First lady Melania Trump has confirmed her visit to Kenya which scheduled to kick off in early October as part of her inaugural Africa tour.While addressing spouses of head of states on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Ms. Trump said apart from Kenya, she will also visit Ghana,Malawi and Egypt.READ: The annual US Green lottery set to kick off from 3rd October“In October I will embark on my first solo visit to four beautiful and very different countries in Africa, Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt all of which have worked alongside the US and our partners to make great progress in overcoming some of their biggest challenge,” she announced. Melania will be in the continent to advance her ‘Be Best’ campaign that focuses on the welfare of children.“Whether it is education, drug addiction, hunger, online safety or bullying, poverty or disease, it is too often children who are hit first, and hardest, across the globe. Each of us hails from a country with its own unique challenges, but I know in my heart we are united by our commitment to raising the next generation to be the happy, healthy, and morally responsible adults,” Ms. Trump saidMelania’s Be Best initiative resonates well Kenya’s First Lady Margaret Kenyatta’s Beyond Zero Campaign which focuses on Neonatal care, children, adolescents as well as maternal healthcare.READ: Kobi Kihara makes comeback after being exposed for plagiarismHinting at her African tour in August, the US first lady expressed her excitement and looked forward to visit the rich continent.“This will be my first time travelling to Africa and I am excited to educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent, while also learning about its rich culture and history,” she said in August.
