Lupita Nyong'o steals the show with Versace gown during Black Panther's premier
As the anticipation for the new Marvel movie Black Panther continues to build, the cast have been doing everything to promote the film which is expected to shutter Box Office numbers.Lupita Nyong'o joined a list of other cast at the film’s premiere on Tuesday in Los Angeles wearing a custom purple Atelier Versace gown with a jeweled gold harness.The dress stole the show, as expected with Nyong'o. The dress was inspired by Nakia, her character in the movie according to her stylist.“There’s definitely a nod to her warrior character, Nakia, here, without being costumey,” said Micaela Erlanger. “It’s a really glamorous take on our vision and it’s very fierce, certainly.”He make-up artist Nick Barose said he wanted to match the star with the red carpet and her lovely dress.
"For the world premiere of Black Panther, I wanted Lupita's make-up to feel glamorous and fierce to compliment her opulent custom Atelier Versace Gown,' Nick explained.
"With a high neckline and lots of face-framing embellishment, it's important to draw attention to the eyes and lips."
Back at home, the movie is expected to premier on Feb 13 in Kisumu giving the residents the privilege of watching Marvel’s most anticipated movie before everyone in the country as an honor to the actress.
