Former Citizen TV's Kirigo Ng’arua opens up: I never thought i'd be fired

Kirigo Ng’arua unexpected and unceremonious excite from Royal Media Services which owns Citizen TV was a surprise to many including her."My lay-off came as a bit of a shock to me as I did not see myself leaving citizen TV any time soon," she said in an interview with Pulse Magazine."Well, I knew that some people would be laid off but I did not give it much thought as I was focused on making myself better in my job."According to reports, up to 100 Royal Media employees lost their jobs.The first batch consisted of some very well known faces, among them business news anchor Terryanne Chebet and morning presenter Kirigo Ng’arua.To get out of all the destruction and pressure from social media, the former TV girl decided to go abroad and ease the pain.“What I actually dreaded came to be a reality. In that shock, i wasn’t sure how to react. But there was no going back for me. I had to move forward.”Sources indicated that she was equally earning a colossal amount owing to her long stay at Kenya’s biggest television station in terms of market share.Some quarters claimed her ratings were not as good as those of Willis Raburu with whom she was hosting Power Breakfast.She went on to tell Pulse that she was not benefiting from a sponsor during the trip“All my bags are packed...I’m ready to go...I’m leaving…leaving on a jet plane...Don’t know when i will be back again.. to new experiences..Opportunities..  Oh and of course I had to carry wazawazi kenya with me..  5…4..3..2..1..”“I have some of my relatives abroad and they invited me over to spend some time with them and i considered it a way for me to take my mind off things from that, people started spreading rumours that i was dating a ‘sponsor’ and that he was taking me on holiday.
