Illegal immigrant given citizenship after foiling a robbery attack
A 31-year-old Nigerian man from Edo state, John Ogah, has received international recognition after a patriotic feat.RomaToday reports that Ogah was given residence permit in Italy in appreciation for foiling a robbery attack in a supermarket.A 37-year-old man attacked the supermarket but was tackled by Ogah.In an interview with Romatoday, a few days after the heroic gesture, Ogah explained:“I don’t know what I was thinking, but I had to do it. I managed to stop him, and many have thanked me for this.”Commander of the Carabinieri of Rome, Antonio de Vita, praised for his courage while handing him the citizenship.John Ogah arrived in Italy about three years ago, with the hope of a better future. With the permit, he can now work and have a real home, because he had hitherto been begging for alms and doing odd jobs.Watch the video below:
