According to Eddie Mandhry, Yale Director for Africa, Kenya has cemented its position as the top African country with the largest number of students admitted yearly to the prestigious Yale University in the United States.“Kenyans continue to hold the largest share of admissions to Yale from Africa, which shows the premium the country puts on quality education,” said Mandhry.Kenyans top the list with 24 students. Nigerian then followed closely in admissions with 23 students, Zimbabwe third with 18 admissions and South Africa were last with 16 admissions.Last year Kenya also topped the list with 23 students.Kenyans have been looking for quality university education as the country is constantly marred with teachers’ strikes, shortage of lectures and lack of facilities for proper learning.Yale is ranked fifth in the U.S.A according to Times Higher Education University Rankings and 15th globally. 24% of its undergraduates and 76% of postgraduate students are international students.
