Kenyan man falls and dies at a waterfall abroad

A Kenyan man has died after falling at a Waterfall while taking a bath in Malaysia on November 21.According to local dailies, Kamudi Valentine Muthomi, 27, from Nairobi, fell nine meters after slipping while taking a bath at the Telaga Tujuh Waterfall in Langkawi.Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Mohamad Mustakim Mukhtar said the department received a report on the incident at 5.26pm.He said the Muthomi died at the scene.“Seven firemen including an EMRS unit were dispatched to the location. The victim’s body was taken down on a stretcher before being handed to the police for further action,” he said.He said the operation, which involved the Royal Malaysian Police and the Langkawi Hospital medical officer, took about to hour.Known as the “Seven Wells” in English, Telaga Tujuh is located around 45 kilometers from Kuah town at Gunung Mat Cincang.The waterfalls got their name from the plunging waters that cascade down into a series of 7 pools.The total vertical fall is 91 meters and the lowest pool is formed at the bottom. Seven Wells Waterfall is located in Pantai Kok area and close to the Pantai Kok Beach and Oriental Village where the Cable Car ride takes place The fast flowing waters have smoothed the surface of the once sharp rock edges.
