Kenyans in Diaspora need to style up and stop avoiding friends when they land home

It's becoming a normal occurrence in Kenya now whenever a friend or that distant cousin arrives from abroad. They usually give you the silent treatment yet you have been talking for years, updating them on what has been happening back at.While communication between Kenyans and their families abroad used to be a huge burden, the internet has provided numerous channels which families now use to stay connected. It's however shocking that some of these people being updated so much about home don't bother to say "hi" or even pay you a visit once in the country.

Joseph Githinji sure knows how this feels like. He took to Facebook to vent on how some Diasporas sneak in and out of the country without a single visit to their friends.

"Now, there's these Diaspora folks who you have been Skyping, Whatsapping and video chatting for the last two years updating them on everything including the weather and the price of flour," Said a rather frustrated Githinji on the post."But when they land in the country, they'll never have time for your sorry behind. They go mute and on holiday including on FB[Facebook]. Next time you see an update, it's 'feeling sad at JKIA departures'. "When you go please keep your stupid Whatsapp forwards to yourselves and keep yourselves busy."The posted attracted a string of comments showing just how many Kenyans can relate to what Githinji was saying.
