Massachusetts Police Responds To Kenyan Lady’s Plea For Autism Awareness
While planning for her campaign for Autism Awareness Day in Lowell Massachusetts, Cyndy Langat made a bold move asking the police to join her campaing. She didn’t really expect they'll respond she but was surprised. She tweeted them on March 22 asking if they would join her in wearing blue on April 2 for Autism Awareness Day and they showed up at her place on Middlesex Street in blue and also to support her son, 14-year-old son Kyle Mosomba who also autistic.Langat said the family usually does a run or other awareness event for Autism Awareness Day.She however reached out to the police this year since Kyle likes police officers.“It's crazy," Langat said. "It just went crazy."After her plea, about 20 other police officers also joined the campaign and used their social media accounts to recruit other departments to the effort in eastern Massachusetts."It's really great for law enforcement to be involved because autism doesn't have physical features for people to look for," Langat said. "It's good to keep them aware." So how was Kyle’s response after seeing the police?"He was beyond elated," Langat said.
