Meet The U.S Based Man Who Wants To Oust Uhuru and Become The Next President Of Kenya

Coming from a tough background that promised very little, Amram Musungu knows what it takes to be persistent and to make lemonades from his lemons. And It’s from this mentality that he’s backing his new announcement that he’ll run for Presidency in Kenya in the August polls."I wanted to be different. I wanted to help," Musungu, who lives in South Salt Lake, told the Deseret News.Musungu, 39, says he’s been preparing for it all his life and now believes the time has come."I will be the best president the country has ever had," he said with confident eyes."I'm in this race to win.  But I want the best for Kenya, and every Kenyan should be proud of their country."Musungu landed in Utah after meeting Mormon missionaries in 1992. By age 17, special permission was made to call him on his own mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he served in his native land for 27 months. He later went to the University of Utah and Westminster College after neighbors and friends funded him attaining multiple degrees and certifications as a financial auditor/accountant.Despite being miles away from his mother country, Musungu believes he can help Kenyans, especially women. He knows it’s not easy but believes it’s possible.“Some would call this a long shot, but it's a real shot," he said."I want every Kenyan to have a better life. The gospel has helped me to understand that nothing is impossible as long as it has to do with blessing the lives of others. It is a very good country, and Kenyans have a good reputation wherever they go. It is selfish for me to stay in America."
