Nairobi named third best place to visit in the world

TripAdvisor, an American travel and restaurant website company providing hotel and restaurant reviews, has ranked Nairobi the third best Safari destination in 2018.“Nairobi was described as interesting place to visit for urban explorers due to the many holiday spots for globe-trotters seeking something different,” TripAdvisor wrote on Tuesday.Halifax (Canada), Gdansk (Poland), San Jose (Costa Rica), Riga (Latvia), Rovinj (Croatia), Nerja (Spain) and Casablanca (Morocco) followed Nairobi on the list.Only Ishigaki in Japan (1) and Kapaa in Hawaii (2) topped Nairobi.The website, which is the largest travel website in the world, also described Nairobi as “the safari capital of Africa and an energetic, modern city that serves as a fascinating introduction to both wildlife and nightlife.”Mohammed Hersi, a renowned Nairobi-based hotelier, agrees with ranking as much as he also takes note of the city's perennial challenges.He took to social media to celebrate the feat sharing:"Despite all the challenges we face, Nairobi is among the top 10 trending destinations in the world. We may not appreciate Nairobi but our visitors do," a seeming excited Hersi shared on his Facebook page.This, however, is not the first time that Kenya is being featured among the best places to visit in the world.
