Outrage after president splashes KSh 3.2 Million on makeup

French President Emmanuel Macron has come under fire for spending a ton of money on makeup.French magazine Le Point pointed out that the good-looking president has already raked up €26,000 (around 3.2 Million Kshs) in makeup bills since he took office in May.The president spent the money on a personal make-up artist identified simply as Natacha M. to ensure that he was ‘slayed for the gods’ during public functions and foreign trips.The costs reportedly came to light after he settled two bills last week with a make-up artist known simply as Natacha M; one for €10,000 ($15,000) and another for €16,000 ($24,000).Officials at the Hôtel Matignon have been quick to defend Macron, saying the make-up artist was "a contractor" who had been called in "as a matter of urgency" and was on hand for foreign trips.They admitted that the costs were "high" but claimed they were significantly less than those of his predecessors, including Francois Hollande who reportedly spent $14,000 at the barbers each month due to thinning hair.Macron, as many have pointed out, is hardly the first French president to go to aesthetic excess: His predecessors spent more on makeup than he's on track to do, and let's not forget Francois Hollande's €10,000 (NZ$16,500) haircuts.
