Yet another Kenyan in the diaspora arrested for fraud, ordered to pay KSh 1.8 billion 

A Kenyan-born doctor has been sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison and ordered to pay KSh 1.8 billion ($18 million) in restitution for Medicare fraud scheme by a federal court in Dallas, Texas.Dr Ransome Njekia Etindi, 57, is among seven other North Texas defendants who were arrested in connection with the nation's largest home health care fraud.They include: Dr. Noble U. Ezukanma, 56, a Fort Worth doctor; Myrna S. Parcon, aka "Merna Parcon," 62, of Dallas; Lita S. Dejesus, 70, of Allen; Oliva A. Padilla, 57, of Garland; and Ben P. Gaines, 55, of Plano.A total of 243 people, including 46 doctors, nurses and other licensed medical professionals, are being investigated for the crime.Dr Etindi served as USPHV’s medical director, and used his Medicare number to USPHV to use to bill Medicare in a fraud scheme that ran from January, 2009 to June, 2013, said the DOJ. According to the DOJ, starting in January, 2013, claims submitted to Medicare by USPHV indicated Etindi provided his services, regardless of who actually performed the services.Etindi’s medical license was suspended in 2011 after the medical board said he had sex with a patient, records show. The board required that for 10 years he have a chaperon present when he examines a female patient.Ransome Njeka is an Internal Medicine specialist in Waxahachie, Texas.He attended and graduated from Indiana University School Of Medicine in 1994, having over 23 years of diverse experience, especially in Internal Medicine. He is affiliated with many hospitals including Baylor Medical Center At Waxahachie. Dr. Ransome Njeka Etindi may accept Medicare Assignment.
