Air France makes huge announcement to Kenyans
Air France will return to Nairobi, 18 years after the shutdown of its service. The company will again offer a direct link between Paris CDG and Nairobi during the summer program 2018.It will offer 3 flights a week to business travelers.According to the GDS, it will provide 3 weekly flights between Paris CDG and Nairobi with a Boeing 787-9. The plane will fly from Roissy at 20:50 every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday to land at the airport of the Kenyan capital at 5:50 the next day.The departure of the return flight is then scheduled at 9:00 am for a landing in France at 16:30.Direct flights close the loop between consideration and decision, which means that people often look at the number of stops they have to make before they decide on a destination to visit,” said Kenya Tourism Board Chief Executive Betty Addero. The return of Air France is expected to introduce stiff competition for Kenya’s national carrier, Kenya Airways, which currently enjoys code sharing agreements with Air France on the same route. Europe has long been Kenya’s leading source market for tourists with Britain, France, and Germany ranking high in the number of visitors.
