Obama Paid $400k Yet Again For Another Speech Even As Americans Continue To Complain
Seems like Americans are not happy with their former President Barrack Obama ever since he left the White House and the rather unpredictable Trump came in.Days after the president agreed to give a speech for a Wall Street bank for $400,000, the president has landed yet another fat offer.Obama made another $400,000 on Thursday when he appeared at the A&E Networks advertising upfront at The Pierre Hotel. He was interviewed over 90 minutes at the Midtown Manhattan event by presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin in front of the cable network’s advertisers."I was troubled by that," Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, a fierce Wall Street critic, said on Thursday during in an interview with Sirius XM's "Alter Family Politics" program.On Wednesday, Mr. Obama’s spokesman defended the former president’s coming speech, saying Mr. Obama decided to give it because health care changes were important to him. The spokesman, Eric Schultz, noted that Cantor Fitzgerald is a Wall Street firm but pointed out in a statement that as a presidential candidate, Mr. Obama raised money from Wall Street and went on to aggressively regulate it.The event, called a History Makers lunch and put together by A&E’s History Channel, was hosted by A&E chief Nancy Dubuc.
